In what would be the first broad-based pricing increase in more than two years on uncoated freesheet (UFS) papers in North America, Domtar was out with a group of $40/ton and $60/ton increases effective with shipments on Oct. 15 across all its UFS publication and printing papers, including offset and printing/converting grades, contacts said.
Pulp Price Increase
Domtar has informed Asian customers that its northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) and fluff pulp prices will increase $20/tonne, effective October 1 until further notice, RISI has learned.
In China, Domtar's $20/tonne increase would bring its NBSK list price to $730/tonne, industry contacts said. Domtar also announced a $20/tonne price increase on fluff, which would bring its fluff list price in China to $680/tonne.
