Second Mill Announces Price Increase


NewPage announced that it will increase coated freesheet and coated mechanical products by $30-60/ton, effective May 1. The company attributed the move to rising input and transportation costs. Verso had previously announced an increase for both coated and Supercalendered papers.

Reduced Bonuses Lead to Compensation Cut for Quad/Graphics CEO Quadracci: Smaller cash bonus payouts contributed to a drop in overall compensation for Quad/Graphics Inc. chairman, president and CEO Joel Quadracci, according to a new federal regulatory filing. Quadracci’s overall compensation dipped about 25 percent to about $4.2 million in 2011.

CEO Confidence Increases

CEO Confidence Increases: The Conference Board Measure of CEO Confidence, which had improved in the fourth quarter, increased further in the first quarter of 2012. The Measure now reads 63, up from 49 last quarter (a reading of more than 50 points reflects more positive than negative responses).
