IP Schedules Downtime Maintenance
International
Paper Company, a world leader in pulp,
paper and paperboard production, has scheduled the fourth quarter of this
year to perform major maintenance activities at four of its U.S. mills. IP
plans call for preventative maintenance, major repairs and overhaul, and
equipment replacements at mills located in Eastover, South Carolina; Augusta,
Georgia; Pine Hill, Alabama; and Cantonment, Florida. The combined expenditure
of maintenance-related activities at the four mills is estimated to cost more
than $20 million, and includes repairs to paper machines, pulp and stock
processing equipment and boilers.
