Over 200 employees at the New Orleans newspaper, Times-Picayune, were laid
off Tuesday.
Overall, Advance Publications, the paper’s New York-based parent company,
cut one-third of its staff. It also plans to reduce the printing schedule to
only three days a week, as well as give further attention to its digital news
distribution.
The paper has been in business for over 175 years.
